Half a year past, how's the progress in AI design been?

At the beginning of this year, the AI wave swept through the entire technology and internet industry. From the UIZard to JSDesign and MasterGo in China, everyone has been continuously experimenting and exploring new ways to integrate AI with UI interfaces. I have also been closely monitoring the changes it brings to the design industry, especially in the field of interface design.

As we enter September, despite substantial investments of resources and efforts by these companies in this field, and some initial progress, it appears that AI in interface design is still in a relatively early stage based on the current results.

At the same time, you may have noticed that the voice of these companies in this field is gradually diminishing. After Figma's announcement of AI design at the Config conference, the entire field seems to have entered a relatively quiet period, and this trend appears to be quietly fading away.

Last week, I had a coffee with a former colleague, we delved deep into the current progress of AI design capabilities, the real needs from the client, and future trends.

When I got back, I reorganized my thoughts and wanted to share some of my reflections and thoughts on current AI interface design in this article.

In the paid full article, I will delve into the complexity of UI interface design and the gap between real user needs and the current capabilities of AI. I will also share my thoughts on two viable product paths for the development of AI in the UI interface.
